The WCDE-49-16X1500 Mega Tower 24000 from Magnalight is a high power lighting package powered by a water cooled diesel engine turning a brushless 4 pole generator which produces 49/KW and 120 to 480 Vac. The sixteen 1500 watt metal halide lamps included with this unit produce a combined total of 2,400,000 lumens and will illuminate a 10+ acre area continuously without refueling for up to 27 hours.

The WCDE-49-16X1500 Mega Tower 24000 is a self contained, towable, high power light tower package that produces enough light to illuminate an area 10+ acres in size. This unit contains a water cooled diesel engine powering a 49/KW generator, which supplies the current for sixteen1,500 watt metal halide lights producing 150,000 lumens each, for a combined total of 2,400,000 lumens of light. This unit can run uninterrupted for up to 27 hours straight without refueling and includes a telescoping light mast which can elevate the four metal halide lamps to a height of 55 feet. This mobile floodlight package is ideal for large scale event illumination, construction, mining, industrial operations, and anywhere a mobile full power lighting system capable of extended operation is needed.

Engine: The WCDE-49-16X1500 mobile light tower includes a 3.0 liter John Deere™ turbo diesel engine that produces 80 standby horsepower at 1800 rpm and consumes 4.0 GPH, 15.1 LPH @ 100%. This engine features key operated electric starting, a twelve volt electrical system, water cooling, replaceable dry element air cleaner, and a full enclosure for safe operation and protection against the elements. The 113 gallon fuel tank is sized to allow the engine to operate for up to 27 hours continuously without refueling. This engine also features cold weather options to improve performance under cold weather conditions.

Generator: The generator on this unit is a Marathon brushless 4 pole design producing 49 KW/ 59KVA in standby single phase and 47 KW/ 59KVA prime three phase. Secondary output is controlled by a three position selector switch, allowing operators to choose from single phase 120/240V zig zag, three phase 120/208V low WYE, and three phase 277/480V high WYE. Four convenience receptacles are included consisting of including two 20 AMP GFCI duplex outlets, and two 125/250V 50 AMP 3 pole 4 twist-lock outlets. This generator system is designed to allow operators to remove the generator from the tower and trailer assembly in order to apply it to other applications if so desired.

Lights: The lighting system on this unit is comprised of sixteen 1,500 watt metal halide lamps producing 150,000 lumens of light each attached to the end of the telescoping light boom. These floodlights produce a wide flood light pattern capable of illuminating a minimum of 10 acres with a combined total of 24,000 watts and 2,400,000 lumens of light. The entire lighting assembly is connected to the power source via a precision light controller ballast and breaker box.

Controls: The operations system for this unit is an easy access control panel mounted to the side of the generator and engine assembly. A single 225 amp main breaker with shunt trip provides safety and positive control of current to the system. Convenience receptacles for power to external devices and equipment include two - 120v 20 Amp GFCI duplex outlets (NEMA 5-20R type) and two- 125/250 V 50 Amp 3 pole 4 wire twistlock outlets (Non Nema 6369). A three position selector switch allows operators to choose from single phase 120/240V, three Phase 120/208V low wye, and three phase 277/480V, high wye.

Telescoping Boom: The extending boom is constructed of galvanized steel and extends up to 55 feet in height. This boom is raised from and lowered to the folded position by a single hydraulic piston, and extended or retracted by a secondary 12,000 lbs rated hydraulic and cable winch system. The stabilizing system consistes of 6 galvanized steel outriggers with 7,000 lbs rated jacks. Each outrigger extends out from the trailer 7 feet 6 inches to provide excellent stability. An included leveling indicator allows operators to easily adjust outrigger positioning to ensure proper tower deployment. Housing: All of the operating components are housed with protective compartments designed to provide protection against the elements while providing easy access for operation and servicing. Hinged doors provide access to interior control and operating systems while latches provide secure closing while the unit is in use or transport. All controls, systems and operating equipment is labled with the proper safety decals and notifications.

Trailer: The entire unit is mounted onto a four wheel, dual axle trailer constructed of 250” TK tube steel. Each axle is rated at 7,000 lbs and equipped with electric brakes and P235/80R16 tubeless tires and wheels. Tongue weight is rated at 650 lbs and an adjustable 3” lunnett eye for pintle hitches provides secure hookup to tow vehicles. A single 7,000 lbs rated tongue jack provides a stable connect-disconnect platform as well as additional stability during tower deployment. Standard heavy duty safety chains are included. This trailer also includes a front mounted storage area for stowing tools and accessories. The trailer is finished in industrial grade Dupont™ paint for protection against rust and corrosion and provides an attractive finish. Overall dimensions of the entire trailer and boom assembly in the stowed for travel configuration is 20’-8” long, by 8’-5” wide X 11’ high.
